Hey pauly -

Panic is a great band - I've seen about 25 shows over tha past 6 years between Richmond, VA Beach, Roanoke and Raleigh. The funny thing about Panic is their fans. Some shows are unreal - great vibe. Other shows just flat out suck because of the crowd. Portsmouth, VA '05. Some little kid was smocking crack behind my son and me and thought it would be funny to blow the smoke on the backs of people's heads. He was generally pissing off everyone around him. We finally had enough, asked him to stop, he flipped us off, 4 guys behind us beat him down hard and called security over. They cuffed him and took him away. Pretty much the same vibe the following year - we always approach the Portsmouth, VA shows with a little trepidation.

Contrast that with 4/26/08 Walnut Creek in Raleigh. Unbelievable show, great crowd, great set list - get the download off of Nugs - Ann Marie Calhoun sits in on fiddle on Driving Song and Surprise Valley. That alone is worth the download.

If you haven't yet listened to Panic with each of the guitarists they've had I'd recommend you do so. Jimmy Herring is great although George McConnell is a personal fave. I never saw them with Michael Houser but the band's stuff with him is outstanding.

Welcome to the fold.
